Weekly Flag Football Recap

In Monday’s flag football action, two very competitive games were held.  In the Men’s North division, RBD Fest took on The Cheetah Girls.  Starting the game off with a touchdown on the opening drive, RBD Fest’s, James Clearly scored off a short run into the end zone.  Leveling the score at 6-6, was The Cheetah Girls’, Dave Broderick, off a short pass from Eric Vanderpool.  Just before halftime, Andrew McDonald scored after a twelve yard run.  With the score at 15-6 in favor of The Cheetah Girls, this game was still up for grabs.  Mounting a comeback in the second half, RBD’s James Clearly and Colin McDonough scored back to back touchdowns.  However, The Cheetah Girls were not to be stopped as Dave Broderick scored his second and third touchdowns of the game to keep RBD Fest at bay.  With both teams having scored four touchdowns, the game came down to conversions, which were edged out by The Cheetah Girls who went on to win by a score of 28-26.
In Monday’s second game from the Men’s South Division, Something Creative looked to make it four wins in a row as they took on Flowhara Turtles.  This game also started off in the balance, with Flowhara taking an early lead with a touchdown from Tom Connolly.  Replying just two minutes later was Something Creative’s, Charlie McDonald who made a diving catch in the end zone.  Entering halftime, Something Creative led the game 8-6, but this one was still too close to call.  In the second half, Flowhara got its second touchdown of the day from Adam Macoulier but were once again trailing by two after a touchdown from Something Creative’s, Matt Williams.  In the end Something Creative kept their unbeaten streak alive with a close two-point victory, 14-12.
