Team IVAN Stays Undefeated In Regular Season Play

Wednesday saw a pair of 3 v 3 basketball games played, with some of the best teams in Men’s Division I in action.  In the first game, Fredette About It (2-2) took on The Trinity (3-1).  The start of the game saw The Trinity come out strong with three quick points scored by Rob Percacciolo.  Fredette About It, leveled the game at 4-4 after Tom Cina’s drive to the basket.  With the scored all square, The Trinity made a game ending run scoring the last three out of four points of the game.  The final first game score was 11-7.
                In the second game, Fredette About It got off to a strong start, scoring four times in just two minutes.  Tom Connolly and Chris Dugas combined for six baskets in the game.  However, Trinity’s Rob Percacciolo and David Mazzariello were too strong and narrowly took victory at 11-8.
                In the other Division I game of the night, team IVAN (3-1) competed against The Bearded Dragons.  In a showcase of individual brilliance, Ivan Almeida accounted for his team’s first five points.  Teammate, Jay Friberg tallied six assists in the first game.  On the other side of the ball, Dana Bahrawy and John Ryan kept their team in the game trailing just 5-3 midway through the first game.  However, an offensive outburst from team IVAN would close out the game, as they rattled off six consecutive points to take an 11-5 win.
                In the second game, Corey Adams came up big defensively for team IVAN with two blocks and six rebounds.  The Bearded Dragons led 2-1 early after buckets from Bobby Schaefer and John Ryan, but were dominated by strong inside play from Ivan Almeida.  He finished with seven points, and two assists in the game.  Team IVAN went on to take the decisive game easily, by a score of 11-4.
