Men’s DI Floor Hockey Showcases Goal-Scoring Talent
In Monday night’s first Division I Floor Hockey game,
Young Gunz took on the Buttrixes. This game was highlighted
by prolific scoring and assists, and four players, two from each
team, tallied a hat-trick. The Buttrixes got off to a fast
start, scoring three goals in the opening three minutes. Not
falling behind, however, Young Gunz, equalized and then took the
lead briefly at 4-3, before the Buttrixes closed out the half with
a 3 goal scoring run to lead 7-4 at the half. In the second
half, Young Gunz came within one of the lead, but were unable to
take advantage, and in the end, fell by a final score of 11-8 to
the Buttrixes. Bryan Rooney and Bill Carey led the Buttrixes
with three goals apiece, while Brendan Green and Kevin Aufiero each
had three goals as well.
In the second game of the night, Puck Yeah competed against Puckin
A. Puck Yeah dominated their competition from the start,
scoring three unanswered goals in the first half. Tim
Culverhouse and Ryan Randall led the way scoring for Puck Yeah in
the first half, as Puckin A looked to get on the scoreboard in the
second half, trailing 3-0. The second half would yield no
goals for Puckin A, however, as they were shutout by a final score
of 5-0. Joe Feeny scored two goals in the second half for
Puck Yeah to close out the victory.
