Volleyball championships to close out Fall IM Season

The final Intramural Sport closed out the semester this past week as three different champions were crowned in Indoor Volleyball. The Men's Champions were "District 5", the women's champion was the "Pink Ladies", and in the Co-Rec bracket, "Aces" were victorious.

In the Co-Rec brackets, "the Aces", captained by Melissa mcNelis, were victorious in the final. Trailing "the Chupacabras" 1 set to none after losing the first set 25-16, "the Aces" rallied in true championship fashion. Storming from behind in set two they came out on top 25-21 and then dominated the shortened final set 15-8 to take home the coveted championship.

The Women's final was a rematch of a match played a few weeks earlier, with different results. When "Pink Ladies" and "FBU" met during the regular season, "FBU" came out on top with a hard fought 2-1 set victory. In the final however, "Pink Ladies", captained by Sofia Bergen would not be denied. Game one was a dominating victory, 25-6, setting themselves up for a sweep they would not be denied as they scored early and often on their way to a 25-12 thrashing for a 2-0 sweep.

In the Men's bracket, "District 5", captained by Mark Kelley were victorious 2 games to 1 over the defending champions "the defending champs" All Matches were closely contested battles, the men from "District 5" just would not be denied
