Men and Women's Rugby host Annual Alumni game

The Men's and Women's Rugby team hosted their annual Alumni game on Saturday March 27, with all proceeds going to the Women's trip to nationals in Florida.

The first game of the day was a very spirited affair, as the men alums took on the '09-'10 Stonehill team.  With a group spread out as far back as Barry Frechette, class of '92, the men alums were able to keep up with the younger men for the majority of the game.  A 17-12 lead late in the game turned into a 27-12 victory for the '09-'10 team, when they were able to get the ball repeatedly wide on the older team.

The second game of the day pitted the women alums again the '09-'10 team.  With most of the women alums having graduated within the past 3 years the game looked to be an exciting one.  Jumping out early 7-0 the alums controlled the pace of the game, surprisingly winning the majority of the rucks.  The younger team was able to slowly creep back in front and at the half the score was 12-7.  The second half was more of the same excitement, as the present day team finally would wear out the alums, putting them away with late scores to make the score 29-7.

It was great to see everyone come out and have such a good time.  Every single person who came back has meant so much to both programs, and the current teams are so thankful for all the alums have done.  A special thanks go out to the parents of the Women's team, who supplied all of the food and drinks for the occasion.
