#4 Nationally ranked Women's Rugby Finishes 4 straight undefeated regular season with win at Southern Connecticut

Trailing at the half for the first time all year, the women's rugby team (5-0) rallied with two second half tries to overtake winless Southern Connecticut (0-5).  Junior Fly-half Laura Fischer and Junior Inside center Katie O'Malley each scored opening half tries, but the ladies trailed 12-10 at the break on a cold and windy day in New Haven.

Junior winger Deborah Caruso put Stonehill (ranked #5 nationally) in front to stay, scoring ten minutes into the second half, and Junior scrum-half Maeghan Kilfoil would finish out the scoring , touching down in the corner to give the ladies breathing room.  Junior hooker Olivia Gorab would convert the Kilfoil score, bringing the final tally to 22-12.  "It wasn't pretty today, but then again it hasn't been pretty all year," commented Coach Derek Jenesky after the win "We have a lot of work to do if we hope to return to Maine and defend our New England title."

The ladies host Williams College in a first round playoff game, Saturday, October, 24th at 10am on the Rec Fields.
