Comprised of over 40 players, our largest sport club is a member of the newly founded DII Rugby Northeast Conference. The team will compete against rivals Bentley, Southern CT, Merrimack, St. Michael's, Providence, St. Anselm's, Holy Cross, and UMASS-Lowell.
A Championship Tradition
The Women's Rugby team has 3 times claimed victory as the New England Division III Champions, having won the title in '97-'98 and going back-to-back in '06-'07 and '07-'08, which was coupled with their back-to-back collegiate national titles in '06-'07 and '07-'08. In '08-'09 after earning promotion to Division II, the women again won the New England and Northeast Regional championships, only to fall in the national championship game in Stanford, CA. In '10-'11 the Ladies continued their winning ways, returning to the DII Sweet 16 in Florida for the 3rd consecutive year, advancing all the way to the Final Four in Pittsburgh, PA.
Since moving to Rugby Northeast Fall 2011 the team has finished no lower than third with back to back conference championships in 2013 and 2014. With three more visits to the DII nationals they have made it an astounding 6 out of 7 years since earning promotion to DII. Adding to that the team has claimed one RNE sevens championship (2013) and two 2nd place finishes coupled with a runner up in the 2014 DII 7's nationals in Allendale, Michigan.
